Crossing Man

My favorite part of the Big Apple painting.

Back to the Big Apple

Its been a long time on the easel, but The Big Apple is in production again.
Joseph got the framing on it the other day;
now awaiting finish work-patching, sanding, painting.

I started to get the colors on the right side in order.....
The balance of the "frames" within the piece need work
But getting started is the key.

The left side is finished
But will most likely need a few things during the process.
Keep you posted.

September: Back in the Studio with The Big Apple.......

Lots of painting during the summer months.
Lots of thinking about projects in progress.
Finished the collaborative piece that Joseph, Tonya & I mailed back and forth.

Looking to auction this to the highest bidder to contribute to the school where Tonya teaches kindergarten....I cleaned out the art attic and gave her 5 totes full of supplies, lessons, samples, etc.
She had just come from the store where she spent her own money purchasing things for her classroom.
These children don't even have enough paper and crayons.
When we look around and see the huge expenditures being made for
designer clothes, large homes, fancy vacations, and expensive meals,
we wonder......could you eschew just one luxury
this week, this day, this month, this year,
to contribute something to a school in need?
Please think about it.

Look for tomorrow' progress on The Big Apple.

Finding Art in the Mundane!

While on the job site painting fabulous wood paneling....
Covering the floor for protection.....
Found The Octopus......

Made of wood filler spilled from the last touch up.
Used the marvelous tricks of the 21st century to make the pic look like a fossil!

Look for beauty in the mundane.
